BHAGORIA FESTIVAL TOUR

Bhagoria festival is celebrated by the tribal people residing on the border are of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh states in India. This is an annual event where young boys and girls are allowed to elope after choosing their partners. The Bhagoria Haat Festival belongs to the local tribes called Bhils and Bhilalas. Day 01ARRIVAL MUMBAI

Arrive at Mumbai airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Mumbai is the charismatic city filled with life and enthusiasm. It is also known as the commercial capital of India and is a land of entertainment due to the influence of Bollywood (Indian movies). Overnight in Mumbai.

 

Day 02MUMBAI

After breakfast, proceed for the city sightseeing visiting The Gateway of India from where one can also visit the island 10 km away to catch glimpse of the famous Elephanta Caves. Also visit The Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhavan and Crawford Market. In evening, drive past the famous Marine Drive. Overnight in Mumbai.

 

Day 03MUMBAI - BHUJ

Morning, transfer to Mumbai airport to board the flight for Bhuj. On arrival in Bhuj, check into your hotel. Bhuj is an ancient center of trade and commerce with some interesting historical sites, but due to major earthquake in 2001, the monuments got damaged. Bhuj is once more a bustling market town. Evening, you can explore the market are. Overnight in Bhuj.

Day 04BHUJ - HODKA

After breakfast, drive to Hodka. En route you will be able to visit a village where the last surviving practitioners of an ancient painting style known as Rogan will beguile you with the brilliance of this art form. Reach Hodka and check-in at the tent. Overnight in Hodka.

 

Day 05HODKA

This day, explore the area around Greater Rann of Kutch, a salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat. It is regarded as one of the largest salt deserts in the world which is spread over 7500 sq km. Also visit the tribal villages around specializing in different forms of handicraft including hair embroidery, block printing and tie and dye. Colour and eye for design is an expression of Gujarat Handicraft and their rich traditional heritage and personal artistic talent. Overnight in Hodka.

Day 06HODKA - BHUJ - VADODARA

Morning, after breakfast, drive back to Bhuj visiting the tribal villages on the way. Reach Bhuj and transfer to the railway station to board the train for Vadodara. Overnight in train.

 

 

Day 07VADODARA - CHHOTA UDAIPUR

Morning reach Vadodara and drive to Chhota Udaipur, the place known for the Rathwas Adivasi Tribes in and around the city. The Rathwas are known for Pithora painting, usually carried out on the walls of the village houses. The tribal museum of Chhota Udaipur has a large collection of tribal artefacts. Many tribal artefacts are also brought for sale in the haats (weekly markets) in the city and nearby villages. Overnight in hotel.

Day 08CHHOTA UDAIPUR (Enjoy Bhagoria Festival) 

Full day to enjoy the Bhagoria Festival. It is a mela or festival, which takes us back to the mythological times of Swvayamvars. A festival which takes us back to the before holi (the festival of colour) mainly consisting of Bhil, bhilala and nayakada tribes. Like a svayamvar of olden times a young man chooses a bride for himself from all the women that are gathered there. This whole affair of finding a wife during the mela is very fascinating as well as interesting. Overnight in Chhota Udaipur.

Day 09CHHOTA UDAIPUR (Enjoy Bhagoria Festival) 

This day also, enjoy Bhagoria festival at another location. Bhagoria festival is a delightful experience for any tourist visiting this area during this particular period. Overnight in Chhota Udaipur.

 

 

Day 10CHHOTA UDAIPUR – VADODARA

Post breakfast, drive to Vadodara and on arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Vadodara.

 

 

Day 11VADODARA - MUMBAI –FLY OUT

This day, you will be transferred to Vadodara airport to board the flight for Mumbai so as to connect to your flight for onward destination.
