RANN UTSAV TOUR

Rann of Kutch Festival or Rann Utsav is an annual three month long festival organised in the salty marsh land of Kutch in Gujrat, during winters, where tourists can get an experience of full moon on the salt deserts. One can also get a taste of local cuisines, culture and hospitality. Get a glimpse of the wildlife also by visiting Dasada, also known as the ‘Little Rann of Kutch’, where you get to see the wild asses and another attraction is Gir National Park, habitat of the last of Asiatic Lions.

Day 01DELHI – AHMEDABAD – DASADA

Board the flight from Delhi for Ahmedabad. On arrival, meet our representative and drive to Dasada, often called as the “Little Rann of Kutch”. Dasada is one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in India. Reach there and check-in at the hotel. Afternoon, proceed for wildlife sanctuary to view the famous Asiatic Wild Ass. Evening return back to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02DASADA

Today, you will be taking early morning and evening safari in the Little Rann of Kutch. Explore the wildlife sanctuary where you can spot animals like Indian wolf and fox, chinkara, blackbuck, blue bulls, hyenas etc. One can also spot a large variety of birds like Cranes, ducks, flamingos etc. Overnight at Dasada.

 

Day 03DASADA – HODKA

After breakfast, drive to Hodka. En route you will be able to visit a village where the last surviving practitioners of an ancient painting style known as Rogan will beguile you with the brilliance of this art form. Reach Hodka and check-in at the tent. Overnight in Hodka.

 

Day 04HODKA

This day, explore the tribal villages around Greater Rann of Kutch, specializing in different forms of handicraft including hair embroidery, block printing and tie and dye. Colour and eye for design is the keynote of Gujarat handicrafts, and is an expression of their rich traditional heritage and personal artistic talent. Visits continue today to villages to see first hand the production of these treasures. Tie and dye using wool and silk is especially popular.

Day 05HODKA - BHUJ

Morning, after breakfast, drive back to Bhuj visiting the tribal villages on the way. Reach Bhuj and check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Bhuj.

 

 

 

Day 06BHUJ - GONDAL

Drive to Gondal, stopping along the way in Rajkot to see the Watson Museum which has some excellent examples of Gujarati craftsmanship. Later proceed to Gondal, and on arrival check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit the Navlakha Palace which was built in the 18th century and houses some of the collection of arts and treasures gathered by the royal family of Gondal. Another must visit is at the Maharajah’s remarkable collection of vintage motor vehicles.

Day 07GONDAL – SASAN GIR

After breakfast, drive to Sasangir, habitat of the last of Asiatic Lions. Arrive at Sasangir and check into the resort. Apart from the Lion there are more than 30 species of other animals including panthers, hyenas, foxes, wild boars and a number of deer and antelope. Overnight at Sasan Gir.

 

Day 08SASAN GIR

Sasan Gir Wildlife Sanctuary is counted among the finest wildlife sanctuaries of India. The only known home of the world-famous Asiatic Lions in Asia, Sasan Gir Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Indian state of Gujarat. Spread over an area of approximately 1,412 sq km, Sasangir Wildlife Sanctuary has been home to Asiatic Lions since 1884. Morning and afternoon jeep safari’s in search of the elusive Lion. Overnight at Sasan Gir.

Day 09SASAN GIR – RAJKOT – DELHI 

Morning on time start drive for Rajkot. On arrival at Rajkot, transfer to Airport to board the flight for Delhi to connect to your flight for onward journey.
